Chapter 1. Traffic arbitrage — for beginners

Training

A traffic arbitrage specialist sends a person to someone else's offer and gets paid for the action that offer counts. The result is the gap between what the visit cost and what was confirmed for it. A like, a follower and “interest” are not that gap. This chapter is only about that gap. A code editor, a chat and a video editor are not the job. The job starts when there is an offer, a tracked link and a spend figure.

On the offer card you read four things before a launch. Which action is paid: a lead, an install, a purchase or something else. Which countries the offer accepts. Which sources are allowed. What the hold is and what the cap on actions is. You do not invent the rate and you do not take it from someone else's post. If the card does not list the country or the source you were about to use, that offer is not for this launch.

A bundle is one source, one creative, one page and one offer. You test them together. If you change the source and the page at the same time, you cannot tell what moved the number. The first test is one such set of four. A second bundle starts after the first one already has spend and an answer from the offer: the action was confirmed, or it was not.

The click link carries a mark. That mark shows which bundle brought the person. A tracker puts the click and the confirmed action in one report. Offer stats without the mark show a total, but not which creative made it. You do not replace the mark with a random one and you do not drop it. Without it you still have spend, and you cannot see which bundle produced it.

The first day is a small cap and one bundle. In the evening you write two numbers: what the traffic cost and what the offer confirmed. If the spend is above the confirmed payout, you pause the bundle. If the payout is above the spend, the next day you raise the cap by a small step and read the same pair again. Until those two numbers exist, you do not raise the budget and you do not open a second bundle.

The ad and the page say only what is in the offer terms: the product, the action and where the button goes. An income promise, a “guarantee” and someone else's result do not go into the text. Someone else's cabinet key, creative or account is not used. If the offer terms forbid a source, you do not turn that source on “just to try”. The offer can refuse to count that click.
